Know all about MAH CET including Eligibility & Selection Process

Commonly known as the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (CET), is an important exam for the stateof Maharashtra as it allows more than a thousand candidates to pursue their MBA dream. The MAH CET exam serves as a gateway to nearly more than 400 MBA Schools, both Government and Private, in Maharashtra. This exam is handled by the Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra. It is an online exam which has only 2 hours and 30 minutes to answer 200 multiple choice questions. Since it is a state level entrance examination, almost all colleges that offer MBA, accept the MAH CET rank and score.

MAH CET Eligibility Criteria

This entrance exam eligibility criterion is slightly different from what is usually offered. Here, there are different rules for the Candidates having domicile of Maharashtra and different rules for candidates from all over India. Though, one criterion remains similar – the candidate must be a citizen of India. There is no age limit for the candidates but he/she must complete its graduation or is in the final year or its equivalent before appearing for the exam. For the residents of Maharashtra, domicile certificate is necessary. Without this, they will not be allowed to use the benefit of the domicile quota.

MAH CET Registration Process

All the process of registration is carried out online, hence; it becomes easy for the candidates to fill the necessary information at their free time. The online registration can be completed at the official website of MAH CET. The candidate needs to follow simple steps of MAH CET Registration process in which details about the address, personal and educational is asked. Usually, the registration process starts from the month of January and goes to mid-February. More than Lakh candidates fill the registration form every year. While filling up the MAH CET Registration form, one needs to be very careful of all the details that are being filled. Any wrong information can lead to the cancellation of the form and the candidate will not be allowed for further processes. The process of payment is also completed in the registration process itself.

MAH CET Admit Card

Once the MAH CET Registration is completed successfully, issuance of admit card is the next procedure. The admit card contains all the essential details of the candidate. It has the name, photograph and signature of the candidate. It contains the registration number, roll number and MAH CET Exam date along with the exam centre and timing. No entry is allowed if a candidate fails to present the admit card at the time of need, hence; it is to be kept carefully so that it stays away from the harm’s way. Hence, MAH CET Admit card is the most important document during exam time.

MAH CET Important dates

 The authorities release all the necessary dates such as MAH CET Exam Date, registration date, issuance of admit card date and result card date way before any process starts so that the candidates can keep track of every happening and do not mis out any opportunity.

MAH CET Exam Pattern

After the release of MAH CET Exam date, the candidate pursuing the exam starts preparing them for the D-day as only fewer days are left. Before appearing for the examination, it is important to know what the exam pattern is for the current year. Rarely, any changes are brought in the exam pattern of MAH CET, hence; it becomes easy for the students to prepare accordingly. The MAH CET question is divided into 3 sections – Verbal ability and English composition, Quantitative Aptitude and Logical Reasoning. There is no negative marking in the questions so the candidates can answer all the questions trouble-free.

MAH CET Result

Once you have appeared for the exam successfully you will have to wait for the results. The result is displayed online where the candidate is needed to enter the roll number or the registration number mentioned in the MAH CET Admit card. Based on the rank, the candidate is allowed to select the colleges he/she is interested in and then counselling takes place.

MAH CET Counselling

The counselling is the last part of the admission process, so the candidate is requested to be present at the given date, time and venue. If the candidate fails to be present on the date then his/her place would be given to another candidate. On the day of Counselling, the candidate should be present with the following documents – MAH Admit card, Domicile certificate (if applicable), Mark Sheet of class 10, 12 and graduation and ID proof.

All these processes take up to 4 months before any candidate can start his/her session. Only after being verified, a candidate is allowed to pursue his studies further. Any doubt or false information can lead to cancellation of the candidate and he will not be allowed to sit for the MAH CET exam further. Hence, after the issuance of MAH CET Exam date and other important dates, one should get ready with all the necessary documents to complete the process successfully and appear for the exams.
